Museum of Us Leadership
Chief Executive Officer Micah D. Parzen, Ph.D., J.D.
Micah Parzen is a husband (to Marguerite), a father (to Abner and Oscar), an experienced nonprofit leader, attorney (JD UC Davis), and anthropologist (Ph.D. Case Western Reserve University; BA UC Berkeley) who seeks to authentically partner with others in creating a ripple effect of good in the world. He joined the Museums of Us (formerly the San Diego Museum of Man) as its CEO in 2010. Over the past ten years, he and his team have gradually transformed the Museum from a musty, dusty, and tired institution into a leading-edge museum. Widely known as a thought leader in the arts & culture/non-profit sectors, Micah has delivered keynote addresses, served on panels, and otherwise shared his perspective on the most vexing issues of our day. He currently serves as a trustee of La Jolla Country Day School, as a member of the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Board Balboa Park Comittee, and as the President of the Board of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership – a collaboration of 28 arts & culture institutions in Balboa Park, which sits on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Kumeyaay Nation.
