Modern civilization is beer civilization! Agriculture, cities, writing, and religion all have ties to ancient craft brewing.
In this interactive exhibit, you’ll experience thousands of years (and miles) of beer history – from the Fertile Crescent of 4000 BC to the modern-day craft brewers of San Diego.
Whether it was Ancient Egyptians, Sumerians, or Chinese peoples, early civilizations each perfected the brewing arts in interesting and unique ways. Learn which brave, beer-drinking culture chewed poisonous cassava root so it could become a drinkable beer!
Enjoy fascinating stories and unique recipes that reveal the links between beer and culture.
