For the sixth year in a row, we’ve received the highest rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of nonprofits. This is the highest “Exceptional” designation award for nonprofits that exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in its classification category.
The news gets better – our incredible rating means that we’re the third highest-rated Museum in San Diego!
Our stellar rating is a result of the Museum maintaining strong financial health while staying committed to accountability and transparency in our mission of inspiring human connections by exploring the human experience. Attaining a 4-star rating means we outperform most other charities in America and exceed industry standards.
Charity Navigator is the largest and most-utilized charity evaluator in America. The organization helps guide intelligent giving by evaluating the financial health, accountability, and transparency of over 9,000 charities and provides basic data on the rest of the 1.8 million U.S. nonprofits. Charity Navigator accepts no advertising or donations from the organizations it evaluates, ensuring unbiased evaluations, nor does it charge the public for this trusted data. As a result, Charity Navigator, a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity itself, depends on support from individuals, corporations, and foundations that believe it provides a much-needed service to America’s charitable givers.
Thank you to our amazing staff, board, and volunteers for working so hard to create a financially healthy organization that’s accountable and transparent!
